The SIM Only strategy was first introduced by O2 with it's O2 Simplicity range during the build up towards the credit crunch hitting its peak. O2's strategic approach to pass on savings directly to the consumer was soon recognised by the other leading mobile network providers and was they then followed up with their own range of SIM only price plans. This has proved to be extremely popular as sales of SIM only plans has surged over the past year and is still growing.
